The Blockchain Inquiry Establish headed by China's Center for Information and Industry Development (CCID) released its 17th Global Public Chain Engineering science Evaluation Index on April x.

The index ranks 37 of the most widely used public blockchains by evaluating them under three different criteria: basic technology, applicability and creativity. The ranking of each project is then decided based on the sum of its scores under all the 3 sections.

Co-ordinate to the latest alphabetize, EOS ranks as the best performing blockchain projection, while the most widely used blockchain, Bitcoin, has slipped down 3 places and at present ranks 14th on the listing.

Coronavirus pandemic has slowed down progress

While the overall index has not been largely affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic, "the update of selected public chain projects has slowed down."

Same every bit the previous ranking, EOS, Tron, and Ethereum keep the get-go three spots on the listing reserved to themselves. However, according to the basic applied science index, Tron and IOST rank second and 3rd, after EOS.

The applicability index ranks Ethereum as the top projection, followed past Tron, Nebulas, and Xiaoyi.

The highest scorer under the creativity alphabetize remains Bitcoin, with EOS, Ethereum and Application Concatenation following its pb.

Overall performance

BitShares has emerged every bit the all-time performing project, ascent past eleven places and reaching 13th place. Big Zero, Nuance, and NashChain too saw substantial improvements in their rank as they rose by 6, five, and 4 spots.

The overall basic technology index saw a slight dip compared to the previous index whereas both the applicability and creativity indexes experienced modest increases.
